Beyond crafting, cookie making and blogging I spend a bit of time reading other people's blogs. Believe me, I've spent many hours, when i should've been sewing/cleaning/you-name-it, surfing the blogosphere instead. I list a few that I enjoy on the left, in my side bar, but there are tons more that I've found since making that list. I really need to do an update. Reading blogs evokes so many different emotions for me, depending on my particular frame of mind at the time. If I'm feeling a bit insecure and pitiful, reading beautiful, shiny blogs makes me feel a bit like, "why do I suck?", or "why haven't I been featured in the latest issue of Martha. . ". Blah, blah, blah. BUT THEN on days that I feel creative and accomplished, those same fabulous blogs motivate and inspire me. Of course some blogs give me a warm and wonderful feeling every time I tune in; Alicia's for instance. "Rosy Little Things" has inspired me from the beginning. Her writing is perfect and her photos evoke deep emotions. Plus she has the cutest pets!
One blog I tune into is Yummy Goods. The very talented Melissa Averinos always tells it like it is and makes me think. This current post really expresses some interesting thoughts about being a professional crafter/creative type. When writing a blog, it's hard to be honest without sounding whiny. No one wants to read that. Melissa knows how to tell it.
Then there's the beautiful colors and crocheting of Attic24. Lucy has a great post here about balancing it all.
And my latest find (I know I'm late to the party!) is Dottie Angel. I love her unique writing style, crafty goodness, and, OF COURSE, her adorable pets! I discovered Tif last Christmas, which felt like one of the best gifts of the season.
I could go on . . . Heather Bailey, Anna Marie Horner. . . beauty at it's best. Oh, and Emily! LOVE HER! I better stop. . . the list is endless. . .
So with that said, I'd like to thank you for stopping by my little blog. I appreciate each and every one of you.
