I had a wonderful experience exhibiting at the Artistic License Fair in Costa Mesa. Aside from the exhausting set up and tear down (the usual), it was a fabulous affair. There were over 40 vendors, all of superior quality, all hand made work, AND all really nice! This is a new geographic area for me, so I was glad to get my work down there, in Orange County. I had very nice response and had good sales.
The best part was meeting artists/designers/crafters who were so dedicated to their work. They were really putting themselves out there. My favorite was LoriMarsha.
She refashions garments and accessories in the most creative manner, plus she is the cutest lady ever! Carrie (who also exhibited) got a great picture of her.
I bought these fun accessories from her. She's into hearts like me!
I also got these fab earrings made from vintage buttons from Merry Wennerberg. I couldn't resist the pumpkin dudes smoking cigars on the card!
David Wenger makes gourmet wooden utensils. I bought a table spoon made from Brazilian Canary Wood. It is so lovely. We'll see if this is a gift or for me.
Oh yeah, one more thing. . . I just had to buy this pendant made by Annika Bodenhamer. She does beautiful fine silver work. I bought some other things at the fair, but they are definitely gifts for people who might actually read this blog!
My Christmas shopping has begun! Don't forget to buy handmade and support your local artisans.
