So, on Father's Day, Andy, Emmet and I flew to Denver for a little adventure. We had reservations at the Burnsley Hotel, right downtown. We were on the 7th floor with an amazing view of the city.
If you ever need to stay in Denver, you should stay here. Unfortunately Emmet came down with the same sore throat virus Andy and I are STILL fighting. Fortunately he had a nice place to hang out on Monday, while I rehearsed all day for my concert.
After being on a bit of a hiatus from the music biz recently, it felt great to be playing again. Especially with such gifted musicians. The Pittsburgh Collective, is a big band organized and led by David Sanford, a friend of mine from college. He's a bit of a genius composer, writing a crazy combination of jazz, classical, and whatever else pops into his head. And it was loud. Which I like.
I was surprised to see some old friends from my college days. I went to the University of Northern Colorado, in Greeley (50 miles north of Denver). My college professor and his wife even showed up.
Emmet even rallied for the show.
But wait, there's more! We had one more day to explore Denver. . . stay tuned.
