I've told you about Paloma before. She's the cute girl on the left, but they are all super cute, no? This is "Bombon", the band Paloma's been playing with for a while now. So when she's not helping me in my studio (10 or 12 hours a week), or working her other two part time jobs, she's playing with these fabulous young ladies.
She rocks out on the bass. On Monday night, my friends and I went downtown (San Pedro) and hit Harold's bar to hear Bombon live!
It was quite a feat for Stephanie (left), mother of the three cute little boys across the street, and Tanya (dedicated morning person) to go out on the town on a school/work night, but we did it! Yes, we were home by 11, but at least we got to hear Paloma's awesome band.
In the cool coincidence category, one of Paloma's good friends, is Lucy (with me, above). She was one of the last students I taught as a band director at Wilmington Jr. High School 15 years ago. We've reconnected through Paloma, and she's as cute and sweet as I remember her, and believe me, they weren't all sweet. Here we are at my last concert:
She actually saved these photos and posted them on facebook.
She even saved the concert program. Andy always designed very cool programs and posters for my school concerts. I announced at that concert that I would be leaving teaching. The end of an era.
