I meant to tell you all about Emmet's new blog, but he beat me to it! Those 12 year olds can be so . . . unpredictable(?) I'm so proud of my boy for doing a blog. He's been talking about it for a while, so over the winter break, we helped him set it up. Though his current (and past and future, I'm sure) obsession is skateboarding, he also enjoys writing, so this will be good for him.
My travel partner (Emmet) and I have been in Wyoming for 4 days now. We bought these sunglasses at the airport. Cheyenne is at high altitude, so we're much closer to the sun, and we didn't want to burn our retinas out. I took this photo in the car on the drive from the Denver airport. My dear parents picked us up and drove us back to Cheyenne (two hours north).
It has been incredibly windy--one of the reasons I could never live here again. Yesterday it was 35 degrees, with 60 mph wind gusts! Wicked. We're going to attempt to visit some skate parks today as it's not quite so blustery.
So we've been laying low by the fire a lot and of course I brought hand work to do.
I started this little baby afghan over the holidays.
Carrie gifted me with the yarn. She's very good at weeding out her supplies. She knows that I, on the other hand, love to add to my heap! I love the color combination. The pattern is from the Nov/Dec issue of Crochet Today magazine. Smokette thinks I'm making it for her. We shall see.
Tomorrow I plan to share some of the handmade gifts I made for the holidays. See you then!
